1. What to expect when I drop my camper off at camp?
- There will be a designated check-in area.
- Check-in staff will wear face-coverings. Parents and children must also be masked during the check-in process.
- Campers and Staff will have a daily health check when they arrive each day. The check-in will consist of a temperature check and overall well-being.
2. What CDC guidelines are you following regarding COVID-19?
- Designated Camp Health Director on-site in the Medical tent during camp hours.
- Minimizing group sizes to 20 children with 1 adult and 1 counselor and limiting movement between groups.
- Ensuring that the spacing of groups always allows for ten feet of separation between groups.
- Taking steps to preclude crowding at pick up and drop off times.
- Strictly limiting and discouraging close person to person contact (hugging, wrestling, games involving touching or tagging).
- Continuing to teach and reinforce healthy hygiene practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
- Implementing enhanced cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Planning for and abiding by procedures for response to COVID-19 exposure.
- Completing DCF Office of Licensing daily log; and
- Requiring notices and wall signs to be posted on entry and exit doors and in restrooms.
3. What cleaning and disinfecting measures will you be taking?
- Cleaning & disinfecting procedures will be utilized to reduce transmission risk to campers & staff. All staff will be trained on proper procedures for cleaning and disinfecting various supplies & equipment used by campers.
- Bathrooms: High touch surfaces will be cleaned & disinfected multiple times a day. Each common-space bathroom will receive a full cleaning every morning and afternoon.
- Wooden picnic tables will be covered with tablecloths so surfaces can be thoroughly cleaned & disinfected.
4. What will camp look like this summer?
- All activities will be held outside unless there is inclement weather.
- Camper groups will have their own designated tent space.
- Each tent will be put in a set location and groups will be spread out at least 10 ft apart from other group tents. These tents will serve as campers’ “home base”. Most activities will take place at or around this base location.
- Campers will participate in themed activities/challenges with their group & main counselors. All equipment/supplies used will be cleaned & disinfected frequently.
- Campers will have the option to attend full-day field trips within New Jersey every Wednesday for an additional fee.
5. What happens on Rainy Days?
- Groups will be brought inside the Y building and they will participate in activities in various locations of the building. Each area will be cleaned and sanitized in between groups’ usage. Some activities may include movies, gym games, board games, fitness classes, trivia, etc.

- Your camp’s directors bring 44 years of combined YMCA camp directing experience to the table.
10. Why are swim lessons and field trips not included in the price as it has always been?
- Swim lessons and camp trips are an additional fee because we recognize in this Covid environment, that every family has different feelings and comfort levels with the various activities that we offer, specifically swim lessons and field trips. We feel the best way to approach this is to be respectful and flexible and give all families options to create the best summer camp experience for their child.
11. Why is there no option for PreK-K for swimming lessons?
- At this time, safe social distancing requirements do not allow for us to offer swim lessons for our littlest campers. We will be sure to keep you up to date as things progress and will notify you of changes to our swim lesson offerings as restrictions are lifted.
12. What is the refund policy?
